We have faced many pivotal decisions in the past, where prayer, fasting and great faith and sacrifice is required of the church. January, 2007 has us at that point again. The Sunday service at Vintage21 has grown to beyond what 209 Oberlin can hold. Even with our evening service, the mornings are beyond capacity. And while our hearts and mission begin with downtown Raleigh, it is also the most expensive place to rent. Finding a space that we can afford, that will allow us to grow while remaining in touch with downtown Raleigh and our mission there has proven to be almost impossible!
“For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 2:37
We have found what we believe to be the next home to Vintage21. Located just north of downtown on Capital Boulevard, the space is 15,000 square feet. The meeting space is large enough for one service, and would provide an appealing atmosphere for bands to play. There are six classrooms for children as well as office and meeting space. The lobby would be used as an art gallery so that our presence as a venue for local artists would be continued. The location is convenient to downtown but less than 2 miles from 440. There is tons of parking, and the building is highly visible from Capital Boulevard.
As we researched what other churches have done before us, we have found that churches in our situation usually spend 3-5 million dollars. That is an exorbitant amount of money for an individual or small church! However, to grow a church to 2,000 does cost most churches millions of dollars. Here’s the beautiful part: the cost to upfit the new space is only $250,000. Now is the time for Vintage21 to step out in faith, and we believe God has blessed us greatly with this opportunity. In building the Kingdom of God, the question isn’t “if†trials will arise, but is a matter of “whenâ€. Vintage21 exists to bring glory to God by building His kingdom, and that requires sacrifice on the part of His followers.
If Vintage21 is your church home, please pray about supporting this effort.
